In autumn of 2010, Sean Macalister made a stream-of-consciousness list of 50 words and word combinations.For two days, in a manic state while repeatedly watching the film BASQUIAT, and living on the Straw House couch, I made a drawing for each of these words. The following day, Sean Sader at PAMELA PRESS, published a run of books - just enough to be packed tightly into 50 PALIMPSEST 2 boxes and distributed throughout Canada, including an exhibition at DHC, alongside New York artist, Jenny Holzer.
We forgot to make extra copies for ourselves, and had planned to re-issue the booklets after the Palimpsest launch. We haven’t done that yet, but here is a sneak-preview of the book that I will try so hard to have ready for February’s Market Collective, along with Western Canadian Book(s) of Drawing, a new book of drawings from the Secret Families show, and original drawings and soft sculptures.
